Nowadays it is very usual to have IIS installed on pc of web developer uses ASP.NET. Let’s see what IIS is first then its installation steps.

What is IIS?

IIS stands for Internet Information Services and it is a Web Server developed by Microsoft to host the website in Intranet, Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN). IIS provides an environment to host the website at a single place from where users can access it anywhere in LAN. It accepts requests from users and responds with appropriate output pages.

If you have worked in Visual Studio and you run the website, it runs only in your local machine. Nobody can access your website from their individual pc. So, to solve this and to make available your website to all users you must have to install IIS on your pc and host webs site in it.
